Woman found dead in early-morning Queens house fire

A Queens woman was found dead in an early-morning house fire Monday, authorities said.

The blaze broke out shortly before 8 a.m. on the second floor of a two-story home at 173 Beach 95th St. in Far Rockaway, an FDNY spokesman said.

When firefighters extinguished the flames, they discovered 47-year-old Dawn Greig unconscious on the top floor.

EMS rushed Greig to St. John’s Hospital, but she could not be saved. Three firefighters were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

No criminality was immediately suspected, but fire marshals are still investigating the cause of the blaze, authorities said.
