Trump needles Jussie Smollett for allegedly staging hate attack

President Trump questioned “what about MAGA” and the people “Empire” star Jussie Smollett insulted with his alleged false report that he was beaten by two black men who told him “this is MAGA country.”

“@JussieSmollett – what about MAGA and the tens of millions of people you insulted with your racist and dangerous comments!? #MAGA,” the president posted on Twitter Thursday, referring to his “Make America Great Again” slogan.

Smollett, who is black, told police that two black men beat him up, yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him and tied a rope around his neck late last month in Chicago.

He also said one of the two men told him “this is MAGA country.”

Chicago police on Thursday alleged that Smollett staged the attack because he was “dissatisfied” with his salary on the show.

He was arrested and charged with filing a false report — a felony.

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said Smollett paid two brothers $3,500 to stage the attack.
