A Pennsylvania contractor is accused of stealing over $150K from the sweet treat distributor Bimbo Bakeries, according to Lehighvalleylive.com.
Bethlehem Township police arrested Crystal Velasco, 31, after the baked goods company reported the contractor had “exaggerated” invoices to the tune of $153,923, dating back to March 2018.
Mexico-based Bimbo Bakeries — known for its cuddly bear mascot — owns many well-known brands, such as Entenmann’s and Sara Lee.
Velasco admitted to Bimbo management that she used the funds to purchase drugs, Lehighvalleylive.com reported.
Authorities arraigned her for charges of theft and receiving stolen property.
She was has since been released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
