These 5 stars auditioned to play Elvis in Baz Luhrmann’s new biopic

Who will be crowned The King?

A slew of young Hollywood heartthrobs are in contention to take on the lead role in director Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming Elvis Presley biopic.

Tom Hanks has already been cast as Elvis’ notoriously controlling manager, Colonel Tom Parker — and Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Austin Butler and Harry Styles have all auditioned for the part of the legendary singer, Deadline reports.

Elgort, 25, of “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Baby Driver,” is also starring in the upcoming films “The Goldfinch” and “West Side Story.”

Teller, 32, starred in “Whiplash” and “Fantastic Four.” Styles, 25, is known for singing in the boy band One Direction before breaking into films with Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed “Dunkirk.”

Butler, 27, will be seen soon in Quentin Tarantino’s hotly anticipated “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” opposite Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 29, of “Kick-Ass” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” is also in the running.

The flick will focus on Elvis’ relationship with Parker, the legendary manager who infamously dictated every aspect of Elvis’ life.

Director Luhrmann, 56, will also write the film with fellow Aussie Craig Pierce, who co-wrote “Moulin Rouge!” and “The Great Gatsby” with him.

“Looking for Elvis,” Luhrmann tweeted in April, adding in May, “Still searching for Elvis.”
