Global Citizen Festival 2019 headliners revealed: Queen + Adam Lambert, Carole King and more

Entertainment royalty is coming to Central Park.

Acts including Queen & Adam Lambert, Pharrell Williams and Alicia Keys will headline the 2019 Global Citizen Festival, on Sept. 28 at the Great Lawn. Even more impressive than its star-studded musical lineup is its long list of hosts and co-hosts: Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness will be joined by co-hosts Rachel Brosnahan, Bill Nye, Rami Malek, Matt Bomer, Elvis Duran, Taraji P. Henson, Joy Reid and Forest Whitaker.

The music fest’s roster also features OneRepublic, H.E.R., Jon Batiste & Stay Human, and Ben Platt. Notably, performer Carole King will return to Central Park — 46 years after her iconic appearance there in 1973.

The cost? Nada. Free tickets will be available via lottery by downloading the Global Citizen app. Drawings will occur throughout the summer and fans will be notified if they’ve snagged a spot.

You don’t have to be lucky to watch it all go down though. The festival will air live on MSNBC and be streamed live on YouTube and Twitter.

VIP tickets are also available on Ticketmaster for $99, $125 and $199. Global Citizen’s VIP passes get concertgoers into designated sections near the stage via a special entrance. The event’s free tickets are general admission, so attendees arrive early to post up closer to the stage.

The festival raises awareness for the United Nations’ efforts to end extreme poverty by 2030. This year, they’re fundraising to cut mortality rates from AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in half by 2023.
