NFL pre-game injury report for Week 7: David Johnson in, Alvin Kamara out

Make sure you check out who is active and who isn’t before the early afternoon slate of games while you set your lineups:

Noteworthy Inactives

Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints (ankle, knee) – Kamara was ruled out of Sunday’s matchup against the Bears due to a high ankle sprain per ESPN’s Mike Triplett. Latavius Murray should replace Kamara this week. The Saints are hopeful he can play in Week 8 against the Cardinals, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Chris Thompson, RB, Washington Redskins (toe) – Thompson was ruled out of Sunday’s game as he is dealing with a turf toe injury. Adrian Peterson should see more touches as a result, but it is an unfavorable matchup against the 49ers strong run defense.

Malcolm Brown, RB, Los Angeles Rams (ankle)Head coach Sean McVay told ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry that Brown is not expected to play this week against the Falcons as he is dealing with an ankle injury. Todd Gurley will shoulder most of the workload, with Darrell Henderson seeing some backup touches.

Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers (toe) – Head coach Matt LaFleur ruled Adams out for Sunday’s game against the Raiders. Adams has missed the last two games due to a turf toe injury he suffered against the Eagles in Week 4.

Sterling Shepard, WR, New York Giants (concussion) – Shepard did not clear the concussion protocol in time for Sunday’s game against Arizona per The Post’s Paul Schwartz and will miss his second game in a row. He has been practicing with the non-contact jersey.

Josh Gordon, WR, New England Patriots (knee, ankle) – Gordon was ruled out for Monday’s game due to knee and ankle injuries. Gunner Olszewski and Jakobi Meyers should see additional snaps this week against the Jets.

Christian Kirk, WR, Arizona Cardinals (ankle) – There was optimism that Kirk would play this week, but Ian Rapoport reports that he needs another week to rehab before returning. Larry Fitzgerald should see more work if he misses the game.

Tyrell Williams, WR, Oakland Raiders (foot) – Williams was ruled out as he deals with a plantar fascia injury. This could mean more targets for tight end Darren Waller.

A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals (knee) – Green will not play this week and is expected to be sidelined at least until the October 29 trade deadline, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Travis Benjamin, WR, Los Angeles Chargers (hip) – Benjamin was placed on injured reserve this week and will not be eligible for return until Week 16.

Chris Herndon, TE, New York Jets (hamstring) – Herndon is expected to miss a second week in a row after returning from a four-game suspension. Ryan Griffin will take over his role on Monday against the Patriots.

Jared Cook, TE, New Orleans Saints (ankle) – Cook was ruled out this week against the Bears dealing with an ankle injury. Josh Hill will replace Cook this week at tight end.

Noteworthy Actives

Mitchell Trubisky, QB, Chicago Bears (shoulder) – Trubisky is listed as questionable for today’s game but will play, according to Adam Schefter.

Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants (ankle) – Barkley will rejoin the Giants this week against the Cardinals after missing multiple weeks with a high ankle sprain. This is an excellent week for Barkley to come back against a struggling Arizona run defense.

Saquon Barkley will return to action for the Giants on Sunday.

David Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals (ankle) – Johnson, who is listed as questionable with an ankle injury, is expected to play on Sunday against the Giants per Adam Schefter.

Todd Gurley II, RB, Los Angeles Rams (thigh) – Gurley was removed from the injury report after sitting out list week with a thigh contusion. He should see a lot of snaps with Malcolm Brown out.

Devin Singletary, RB, Buffalo Bills (hamstring) – Singletary did not appear on the final injury report before Week 7’s game against the Dolphins. This is a great matchup for the rookie against a bad Miami run defense. Frank Gore, who has been handling the workload in Singletary’s absence, is downgraded to a flex option this week.

Raheem Mostert, RB, San Francisco 49ers (knee) – Mostert is active today against the Redskins. This is a great matchup for all the 49ers running backs.

Amari Cooper, WR, Dallas Cowboys (ankle, quad) – In spite of concerning reports this week, Cooper will play tonight per Ian Rapoport.

Randall Cobb, WR, Dallas Cowboys (back) – Cobb will also play tonight per Ian Rapoport.

Geronimo Allison, WR, Green Bay Packers (concussion, chest) – Allison will play on Sunday against the Raiders per Ian Rapoport.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, Green Bay Packers (ankle, knee) – MVS will also start on Sunday against the Raiders per Ian Rapoport. He missed practice this week and had been marked as questionable going into this game.

Dede Westbrook, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars (shoulder) – Westbrook is active this week against a poor Bengals defense. He appeared on the mid-week injury report and was questionable going into this game.

Evan Engram, TE, New York Giants (knee) – Engram is expected to rejoin the team this week against the Cardinals per the Post’s Zach Braziller after missing last week’s game with a knee injury. He has an excellent matchup against an Arizona team that struggles against tight ends.

Darren Waller, TE, Oakland Raiders (foot) – Waller practiced in full on Friday and did not appear on the Raiders final injury report this week. He should be good to go for Week 7 against the Packers, and should see more targets than usual with fellow pass catcher Tyrell Williams sidelined.

Tyler Kroft, TE, Buffalo Bills (ankle) – Kroft was left off of the Bills final injury report and has an excellent matchup against the Dolphins this week.

Still Questionable

Rex Burkhead, RB, New England Patriots (foot) – Burkhead has not played since suffering a foot injury in Week 4. It looked like he was close to returning in Week 6, as he was a game-time decision, so there is optimism he will be ready to go this Monday against the Jets.

Julian Edelman, WR, New England Patriots (chest, ribs) – Edelman has been battling a chest injury since Week 3, but has played in each game since. He is questionable going into Week 7 against the Jets.

Phillip Dorsett, WR, New England Patriots (hamstring) – While still questionable, Dorsett is on track to play in Monday’s game against the Jets per Jim McBride of The Boston Globe. If he plays, he should see increased work with Josh Gordon sidelined.

Marquise Brown, WR, Baltimore Ravens (ankle) – Brown has missed practice all week due to an ankle sprain and is questionable for Week 7. It’s likely he misses his second game in a row. Willie Snead and Miles Boykin would see additional work in his absence.
