Odell Beckham’s tweet doesn’t fully explain strange Browns talk

Odell Beckham tried to spin his strange comments that seemed to indicate he was open to playing somewhere besides Cleveland.

Beckham tweeted on Friday that his comments a day earlier did not mean he was unhappy with the Browns, but was simply hoping for better results than a 5-7 record, two touchdown catches and six games in a row without 100 yards receiving.

“I NEVER said I was not happy in Cleveland, just like everyone else I’m hopeful for better results. Period. Next story plzz,” Beckham wrote.

But that tweet didn’t exactly address what he said on Thursday, when Beckham told reporters he was unsure about his future nine months after the Giants dealt him to the Browns.

“I couldn’t tell you what’s going to happen,” the 27-year-old Beckham said. “I couldn’t sit here and tell you whether I’m going to be here, want to be here, don’t want to be here. This is exactly where I’m at now and I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else.”

Beckham has a contract through 2023, so he’s not going anywhere, unless he forces his way out or Browns choose to move him, making these comments peculiar if he is happy in Cleveland.

“In the offseason, everything will figure itself out,” Beckham said. “I feel like I’ve been here before asking questions about the next team while I’m on a team.”
