Bart Scott has found a new landing spot for Tom Brady next season.
Scott — who will begin his new 98.7 FM ESPN New York radio show with Alan Hahn on Jan. 20, according to The Post’s Andrew Marchand — said the 42-year-old Brady would be a perfect fit for the Los Angeles Chargers.
“Well, if we’re going to play quarterback musical chairs and we think maybe Philip Rivers is going to go to the Colts, I think the perfect destination for Tom Brady would be the Chargers,” Scott said Thursday on ESPN’s “Get Up!” show. “You talk about their skill set. He’d be going home. They’re going to their new stadium this year. They need to fill that stadium. They’re not filling a soccer stadium. So when they move there, you talk about creating some sizzle. There’s a lot of Patriots fans that are out on the West Coast, he’s a West Coast guy.”
Scott also said he believes Brady is motivated to prove he can win on his own.
“I think Brady wants to prove he can win without (Belichick),” he said. “Going out there with Anthony Lynn, with a team with a tremendous tight end in (Hunter) Henry. You think about Keenan Allen, maybe one of the best receivers he’d ever play with and the (Mike) Williams kid is a splash. Even if they don’t bring back (Melvin) Gordon, they still have (Austin) Ekeler. I think he’d have some of the best weapons he’s had in years.”
Brady — who is in the final year of his contract and is preparing for the 17th postseason of his 20-year NFL career — sidestepped talk of his future in the same way he has avoided big hits throughout his illustrious career.
“I’m not much for nostalgia,” said Brady, who is preparing for a first-round playoff matchup against the Titans on Saturday night. “I’m just pretty focused on what I need to do. This week has felt just like every other week for the last 20 years.”
Former Jet Damien Woody said he believes Saturday will be the end of the six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback’s tenure in New England, largely because the Patriots aren’t entering the playoffs with any kind of momentum, especially after their ugly season-ending loss to the Dolphins, which cost them the No. 2 seed and a bye.
“I think we’re looking at the end,” said Woody, who won two Super Bowls playing alongside Brady. “I think this is going to be the end of Tom Brady in a Patriots uniform.”
