Two cross-country runners were killed and four others injured in a hit-and-run near their Oklahoma high school, according to new reports.

Rachel Freeman, a senior at Moore High School, was killed when Max Townsend, 57 — whose own son died in a car wreck just a day earlier — barreled his red pickup into the team on their daily practice run, KFOR reported.

Yuridia Martinez was hospitalized in critical condition but later died, it was announced Tuesday.

Joseph White, Kolby Crum, Shiloh Hutchison and Ashton Baza were also hit, the outlet reported.

Crum was listed in critical condition Tuesday, while White and Hutchinson were listed in fair condition. Baza was released Monday night.

Townsend allegedly took off after the collision — careening through two parked cars, a mailbox and several front lawns before coming to a stop several blocks away, police told the outlet.

“They let him out to see how he would walk and he was dragging his leg,” witness Richard Stafford told the station.

He was arrested and charged with one count of manslaughter and six counts of fleeing the scene of an accident. It wasn’t immediately clear whether his charges would be upgraded.

“Please keep the students, staff, and our families in your thoughts,” Moore High School principal Mike Coyle said in an email to parents obtained by the station. “Our sympathies are with the Freeman family during this time.”

Freeman had planned to continue running cross-country in college and pursue a career in physical therapy, according to a “Student Athlete of the Week” feature in local outlet Moore Monthly back in the fall.

Townsend’s son, Cody Townsend, 29, was killed less than a mile away Sunday when he rear-ended a vehicle so hard that the other driver may have blacked out and taken off, completely unaware of what happened, KFOR reported.
