Wegmans at the Brooklyn Navy Yard will soon have lots of company. Nearly 40,000 square feet at the same address, known as Building 212, are either leased or about to be signed in the structure’s office portion, which is designed for creative and light-manufacturing users.
Building 212 has 130,000 square feet of office space in addition to the 76,000-square-foot Wegmans supermarket. It’s part of the Navy Yard’s Admirals Row section being developed by Steiner NYC. Steiner leases Building 212 back to the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corp.
Eclectic tenants already signed include artists group Studio Pendleton, green energy consultants BlocPower, robotic furniture design outfit Ori Living and fashion accessories producer Fydelity.
Asking rents are in the $20s per square foot for industrial uses and higher for offices.
Building 212 is part of the Navy Yard’s ongoing, $1 billion expansion.
