Coronavirus-stricken Chris Cuomo tells Andrew he’s ‘barely keeping it together’
Coronavirus-stricken CNN anchor Chris Cuomo called in to his brother’s Albany press briefing Thursday, telling Gov. Andrew Cuomo that he can “barely … keep it together.”
“I see why it takes people out, you got to rest, because your body has a fever because it’s fighting the disease,” Chris Cuomo said. “I’m very lucky. I have a wife, who loves me and keeps me fed.
“A lot of people are fighting this alone. And I can’t imagine that. I can barely, you know, keep it together.”
The journalist, diagnosed Tuesday with the potentially deadly disease, has continued broadcasting his nightly CNN show, albeit via a video stream from the basement of his home.
Older sibling Andrew has said that he was “frightened” by his kid brother’s diagnosis — while Chris relayed that the governor had come to him in a dream that was, at least to him, comforting.
“You were dancing in the dream and you were waving a wand and saying, ‘I wish I could make this go away,'” related Chris. “And you spun around and then you went away.”
Cracked Andrew, “Obviously the fever has affected your mental capacity.”
Despite trading a healthy dose of brotherly barbs throughout the talk, the pair ended the call with a pair of “I love you”s.
