Ring video shows moment Florida woman gives birth in parking lot

A Florida mom delivered her baby in a parking lot just steps away from a birthing center — in a stunning moment caught on video.

Susan Anderson and her husband, Joseph Anderson, were in front of Natural BirthWorks center in Margate on June 19 when their baby girl, Julia, decided she just couldn’t wait any longer to meet the world.

“During the car ride to the birth center, I turned to my husband, and I was like, ‘I need to push!’” Susan told Local 10. “I didn’t think I wouldn’t make it into the building.”

And she didn’t.

The Ring video shows Susan screaming and hunched over with her midwife, Sandra Lovaina, crouched behind her — ready to catch the baby as it slid out of the side of her shorts.

“By the time we got to the first step, the head was coming,” recalled Lovaina, who was prepared and wearing gloves and a mask.

Two police officers are also seen in the video keeping their distance.

“She’s OK,” Lovaina told the cops. “I’m the midwife. She’s here to have the baby.”

The couple, from Coral Springs, has another daughter — also delivered at Natural BirthWorks, only inside the facility.

“She had been our client before. We’ve done her other delivery, and round two was just a lot faster,” said Gelena Hinkley, who owns the birthing center. “No one was expecting it to be that fast.”

Susan said she’d planned a water birth for her new baby girl.

“That was my focus, just getting inside to the birthing tub,” she said, “but she had other ideas.”
