Urban Meyer, Jaguars take next step in NFL flirtation

All the talk about Urban Meyer being a candidate for the Jaguars’ head-coaching position wasn’t just hot air.

The former Ohio State and Florida coach is meeting with the team on Friday, NFL Network reported.

Meyer won national championships at Florida and Ohio State. He’s known for rebuilding programs fast. That said, he’s never coached in the NFL before.

The Jaguars have already interviewed Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy and Falcons interim coach Raheem Morris. 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh is scheduled for a Saturday interview.

Jacksonville owns the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft after going 1-15 and firing Doug Marrone. The expectation is it will pick Clemson phenom Trevor Lawrence.
