Brooklyn car crash kills teen girl, injures four others: cops

An 18-year-old woman was killed when the teen driving the car she was in tried to flee cops and crashed into another vehicle in Crown Heights in a horrific smash-up early Sunday, police said.

Four other people, including the 18-year-old fleeing driver, were injured in the Brooklyn crash, which left his vehicle completely decimated.

The killed woman had been sitting in the rear passenger seat of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata being driven by the 18-year-old trying to get away from cops at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Rogers Avenue around 2 a.m., police said. Their vehicle collided with a 2007 Toyota Solara.

It wasn’t immediately clear why police were attempting to stop the vehicle, an NYPD spokesman said.

EMS responded and removed two 19-year-old male passengers, who are in stable condition, from the Sonata.

The 18-year-old female and 18-year-old driver were taken to Kings County Hospital, where the female was pronounced dead. The young man was taken to the hospital in critical condition but is now in custody, and charges are pending, authorities said.
