Prince Andrew posed for coronation pics that are ‘unlikely’ to ever be released
Disgraced UK royal Prince Andrew was allowed to secretly pose for official coronation portraits in his formal garter robes — but they’re “unlikely” to ever be released, according to a report.
Andrew, 63, already raised eyebrows by wearing the velvet robes at his brother’s coronation despite being booted from working as a senior royal over his ties to late pedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein.
An insider now tells the Telegraph that the disgraced duke even got to wear the robes while secretly joining his family in the official coronation portraits taken by Hugo Burnand.
“Andrew wanted to be included in the photoshoot and requested that there would be time in the schedule for him to be photographed,” the insider said.
“He wanted to make sure there was an official record of his participation in his brother’s coronation,” the source said of King Charles’ big day.
”But it is unlikely the images will be released by the palace.”
Neither the palace nor Burnand would comment, the Telegraph said.
It was previously assumed that Andrew had been left out of the shoot to reflect his lowered status as a non-working royal who also got stripped of his titles. He was not in any of the pics so far released, including one showing larger groups of working royals.
King Charles’ estranged son, Prince Harry, 38, however, was left out — having fled the coronation as quickly as possible to return to his family in exile in California.
Harry wore a simple morning suit to the event, which many assumed would be the same attire worn by his uncle.
The new king gave his brother special permission to wear the robes with the badge of the Order of the Garter, the oldest and one of the most senior orders of knighthood, the Telegraph said.
That honor was bestowed despite Andrew reportedly still refusing to budge from his resplendent $37 million home at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Page Six first revealed more than a month ago that Charles was “tired and furious” at his brother for refusing his orders to move to the much smaller Frogmore Cottage, which was home to Harry and his family before they quit the country.
That remains the case — and Harry is “worried that the royals might even turn off the utilities to get him out of there,” one friend told the Mail on Sunday.
“He’s concerned that now the Coronation is over, the knives are out,” the pal said. “But we’re dealing with human beings, not real estate.”
Andrew has also become reclusive amid the apparent battle with his brother, who reportedly wants to hand over this longtime home to heir Prince William.
“He is so fragile. He’s refusing to see anybody,” Andrew’s friend said.
