Dalvin Cook’s agent pumps up running back’s interest for ‘all-in’ Jets

The buzz linking Dalvin Cook to New York is only getting louder.

The star running back’s agent, Zac Hiller, said in a recent interview that he likes the environment the Jets are cultivating, most notably with the addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“I think the Jets have a great thing going,” Hiller told Jets podcaster Paul Andrew Esden.

“They’re all in. They want to win a Super Bowl. I think they want to bring a Super Bowl to New York City. They brought in an incredible, first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback. Those [types of players] aren’t just out there like that. [Rodgers] is a complete franchise city-changing player and that’s somebody that you absolutely want to play with at some point in your career, one hundred percent.”

The Dolphins, a Jets AFC East rival, have also been linked to Cook, as they may be looking to supplement its already-impressive offense featuring Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle with a running back like Cook, who is a Miami native.

Cook has been a Pro Bowler for four straight seasons and is emerging from a season in which he carried the ball 264 times for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns.

Following the Vikings’ release of Cook in early June, he is seeking a deal of around $10 million, per the Miami Herald.

For the Jets, who have limited cap space and are monitoring second-year running back Breece Hall’s return from an ACL injury, Cook would likely have to take a pay cut to be a legitimate option.

The Jets also have Michael Carter entering his third season.

Carter finished 2022 with 402 rushing yards on 114 carries.

“A lot of people got me pegged going back home [with the Dolphins], and a lot of people got me going to the Jets,” Cook said on SiriusXM NFL Radio earlier in June. “It’s all over the place right now. But what’s going to be important for me is just going to that right situation and helping somebody turn the page.

“I want to go and be the piece that can just help somebody win and get over the hump, and whatever that situation comes with — if it comes with me taking less reps but me being in the perfect situation to hold up that trophy — I don’t mind.”
