Megyn Kelly blasts ‘morbidly obese’ Lizzo, but defends her over fat-shaming claims

Megyn Kelly took aim at Lizzo as “morbidly obese” after the singer was hit with a string of lawsuits alleging that she fat-shamed backup dancers and made them perform degrading sex acts.

The 35-year-old “About Damn Time” crooner, who has cultivated a public image predicated on body positivity and inclusivity, has denied allegations that she created a hostile work environment.

“Such a role model,” Kelly said of Lizzo during her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show” on Monday.

Kelly told her listeners that she doubted the veracity of the initial claims against Lizzo that were brought by three former backup dancers who say they were fat-shamed and subjected to sexual harassment.

“Now I confess, when I first saw this, I was like, ‘Well she’s very famous, she’s probably very rich, and that makes her a target. So I don’t necessarily believe the three dancers who came forward to say she created a hostile work environment,’” Kelly said.

“Because I have to be honest that the allegation sounds like weak sauce to me,” she said.

Kelly then commented on remarks by one of the ex-backup dancers who claimed that the singer discouraged her from gaining weight — warning that doing so could jeopardize her job.

“You know, dancers get fired for gaining weight,” Lizzo is alleged to have told her dancers, one of whom, Arianna Davis, filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court on August 1.

Kelly appeared sympathetic with Lizzo and the rationale behind her alleged statement.

“That’s true … The fact that Lizzo is morbidly obese doesn’t change that reality for dancers who are in the professional industry,” Kelly said.

“I don’t think that’s hostile work environment,” the SiriusXM host added.

“But now since these three filed the lawsuit claiming Lizzo created a hostile work environment, more and more people are coming forward.”

One of the more salacious allegations leveled against Lizzo was that she pressured her subordinates to touch a nude performer at a club in Amsterdam.

Lizzo is also alleged to have coerced dancers to eat bananas that were protruding from the vaginas of sex workers in Amsterdam.

“The current stream is basically saying that she is really inappropriate sexually … and that indeed could be a hostile work environment,” Kelly said.

“Such a role model.”
