Trevor Bauer’s 27-minute phone call with accuser, Lindsey Hill, released

A 27-minute phone call between former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill, the woman who accused him of punching her during rough sex, has been released.

Bauer and Hill agreed to drop their lawsuits against each other earlier this week, allowing each to openly discuss their sides of the story for the first time.

A lengthy phone call between Hill and Bauer, which was recorded by the Pasadena Police Department in collaboration with Hill on May 22, 2021, was released Thursday by the site Legal Affairs and Trials.

“I really do appreciate all your sweet messages and stuff and, like, they do make me better. … The thing for me is, like, it’s kind of like blurry for me, obviously, because I was like coming out of, like, in and out of consciousness. So I did ask you to hit me?” Hill asked Bauer in the call.

The website reported that Hill had two officers sitting next to her at the time of the call.

“Yeah,” he answered after a brief pause.

She asked, “I’m trying to wrap my head around it because obviously, like, I’m in a lot of pain, and I don’t remember, like, specifically asking you to, like, hit me. Like, did you mean to hit me that hard?”

Bauer answered, “No, and like, that’s why it’s confusing. I didn’t feel like I hit you that hard, you know? And certainly, like, I tried telling you multiple times, ‘Do you want to stop? Are you OK?’ And, like, you said to keep going. So I just was trying to follow your lead on it.”

Hill talked to Bauer about “boundaries” and not having wanted a “free for all” and said that she had been hospitalized.

“We, like, checked multiple times about having a safe word and, like, and all that, like, I thought that it was, like — I thought you were OK,” Bauer responded.

“I would check multiple times like, ‘Hey are you OK? You want to stop or not?’ You said no. So, like, I was — that was kinda my way of, like, trying to make sure that we weren’t crossing any boundaries.”

Bauer released a video after the litigation was dropped that showed Hill sleeping next to Bauer, appearing to smirk, and having suffered no apparent injuries in their romp.

He also revealed an alleged text message exchange between Hill and an unknown acquaintance in which she wrote that Bauer’s “Net worth is 51 mil,” and the other person allegedly replied, “bitch, you better secure the bag.”

Hill also allegedly texted a friend “need daddy to choke me out” and said she planned on “Being an absolute WHORE to try to get in on his 51 million.”

Hill responded to Bauer’s video in an interview on “Prime Time with Alex Stein.”

Hill claimed the texts lacked context and the bruises “will take time” before they are visible.

Bauer maintained throughout the process that the rough sex was consensual and he was not charged with a crime.

“Trevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill had consensual rough sex and the pretext call confirms that his version of events — the truth — never wavered, despite her attempts to get him to admit what she told the police,” Bauer’s attorneys Jon Fetterolf and Shawn Holley said in a statement provided to The Post.

“Throughout the call, Mr. Bauer politely disagreed with her assessment multiple times while still trying to be thoughtful and courteous to a person he believed was a friend, rather than a person trying to deliberately set him up by recording this call, unbeknownst to him, with the police. He continuously notes that they discussed her preferences and boundaries in advance; how she asked him to be physical; how he checked on her multiple times during intercourse to confirm she was enjoying herself and to ensure that she wanted to continue; that he was following her lead; that it was his understanding—based on what she had told him—that she was experienced with and enjoyed rough sex; and he expressed his confusion at her alleged injuries given what did and did not take place. While there was consensual slapping at her request, he never punched Ms. Hill.”

The attorneys noted that the released call was not the “smoking gun” Hill hoped it would be — rather, it was further evidence against her credibility.

Bauer was initially suspended for two full seasons by MLB as a result of these allegations; the suspension was later reduced to 194 games.
