Bettor fades Jets and wins $32,250 on Chargers’ ‘MNF’ punt return

When Chargers special teamer Derius Davis took the first punt of the game to the house for a touchdown early in the first quarter, the game was all but over for one bettor.

The NFL wager-maker’s $500 parlay included the Chargers defense/special teams to score the first touchdown of the game on “Monday Night Football,” and they must have loved watching every Davis step as the sea parted to his left side and he ran into the endzone.

The score was the first in L.A.’s 24-6 win.

The three-leg parlay included the Chargers to score over 19.5 total points and Los Angeles to win outright in the final two legs.

Obviously highly correlated, the parlay won a pretty penny: $32,250 in profit.

The true odds on this parlay were 43/1, but thanks to an odds boost, it grabbed 64.5/1 on the three-leg parlay.

This player is likely getting VIP promotions at DraftKings, as boosts rarely are eligible for bettors who are betting $500 a pop like this.

Most sportsbooks like BetMGM, FanDuel, Caesars, and BetRivers offer VIP promotions, which you have to qualify for after playing for a few months.

The Jets were doomed from the start on “Monday Night Football” as the offense turned it over twice in the opening quarter.

The moneyline was almost assured for most of the night, but the Jets defense made the Chargers over 19.5 a sweat.

Turnovers were the reason this over ended as a winning leg, with the Chargers scoring the majority of their points on offense (20) off of turnovers (14).

Cameron Dicker nailed a field goal with eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to cash the parlay for this bettor.
