Color us excited — 2023 is nearing an end and 2024 is on the horizon, debuting a hue to help us enter the new year in a, well, peachy way.
As per the annual tradition, Pantone has officially announced the 2024 Color of the Year to be Peach Fuzz, or PANTONE 13-1023 to be exact. The shade is a classic peach tone, perched on the pastel part of the color wheel.
“A cozy peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz brings belonging, inspires recalibration, and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel, and heal and to flourish from whether spending time with others or taking the time to enjoy a moment by ourselves,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute, in the official press release.
This year’s announcement also marks the 25th anniversary of the colorful tradition, which began in 1999 with the color Cerulean Blue. Since then, we’ve celebrated every shade, both vibrant and demure — however, these last few years have all been in the pink and purple family, with Very Peri periwinkle for 2022 and Viva Magenta for 2023.
“In the spirit of PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, we reflect back on the last 25 years of the Pantone Color of the Year program grateful to provide an avenue where designers and color enthusiasts all over the world can engage in a conversation about color, be inspired by color and showcase their creativity within their communities,” said Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute in a statement. “We look forward to continuing this for many more years to come.”

As with many of the Color of the Year announcements, Cariuma is one of the official partners, splashing the peach shade across both of their leather and canvas styles. The brand also embraces the changing world in addition to changing trends, planting two trees in the Amazon per pair purchased.
Aside from footwear, Pantone suggests embracing the color in your clothing via quilted items like this long trench coat, a flared jean with an unfinished hem or a fuzzy jacket.

This year, female-founded & impact-driven cosmetic company, Shades By Shan is the official beauty partner, releasing a matching lip shine for 2024. Pairing the lip with a neutral peach nail color or adding a hair gloss for a peachy glow.

Two of this year’s interior design partners are Ruggable and Spoonflower, helping incorporate this year’s color via a rug or wallpaper, respectively.
