Dolphins star Tyreek Hill says mansion is ‘done’ as massive fire causes $2.3 million in damage

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill says his luxurious Florida mansion is “done” after the home went up in flames last week.

The NFL superstar’s horrifying ordeal was captured during the latest episode of “Hard Knocks” on Tuesday when Hill met with Dolphins wide receivers coach Wes Welker and fellow wide receivers.

“It’s done. The house done, bro,” Hill recalled. “Smoke damage, fire damage. The whole upstairs is burnt down. It’s alright though.”

Firefighters were called to blaze, which was upgraded to a two-alarm fire, at Hills Southwest Ranches residence as smoke was seen billowing out of the upper floor before 2 p.m. on Jan. 3.

Hill was with the Dolphins at practice and rushed home when the fire started.

He was later seen outside his home with a walking boot on his left foot.

Hill, who led the league this season with the most receiving yards (1799) and tied with the most touchdowns (13), purchased the home for $6.9 million — later valued at $5.6 million — in 2022.

The blaze was reportedly caused by a child playing with a lighter and caused $2.3 million in damages, according to TMZ, citing an incident report.

The report also indicated two kids were in a room playing with a lighter when they “accidentally lit a toy on fire,” before getting scared, throwing it, and running, according to the outlet.

The child who lit the fire was a 4-year-old.

“The investigation identified that the fire was an accidental and was caused by a child playing with a lighter within a bedroom where the fire started,” said Robert Taylor, fire marshal with Davie Fire Rescue, according to CBS News Miami.

No one was injured in the fire.

It took firefighters 45 minutes to put it out.

Earlier in the episode, a Dolphins staff member alluded to Hill’s home being too damaged for the receiver to sleep in it.

“I was wondering if he slept at his house,” quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said before Quarterbacks/Passing game coordinator Darrell Barrell told him about the damages.

In the regular season finale, and the first since “losing” his home, Hill had 7 receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown, in the Dolphin’s 21-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills, who would clinch the AFC East with the win.

Hill will be away from his home this week as the No. 6-seeded Dolphins travel to the No. 3-seeded Kansas City Chiefs for the first round of the playoffs on Saturday.
