Megyn Kelly blasts ‘idiot’ Joy Reid after MSNBC anchor grilled Moms for Liberty co-founder

Megyn Kelly blasted MSNBC anchor Joy Reid as an “idiot” following the left-leaning host’s contentious interview with a conservative activist who has called for public schools to remove books with explicit sexual content from student libraries.

Reid on Friday interviewed Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice, who pushed back on the anchor’s suggestion that the group is seeking to “ban books.”

“This idiot actually wanted to know what ‘expertise’ @4TiffanyJustice has to object to minors in school reading about strap-on dildos & incestual pedophilia,” Kelly wrote on her X social media account Sunday.

Reid asked Justice about her group’s efforts to force schools to bar the book “All Boys Aren’t Blue” by George M. Johnson, a young-adult memoir.

The book has been banned by at least 29 school districts nationwide due to its sexually explicit content.

“What a tragic story of a young man who is anally raped by an adult family member,” Justice told Reid, referencing the book.

Justice said books that deal with “incest, rape and pedophilia” should not be available to students in school libraries.

“In what context is a strap-on dildo or the rape of a minor child by a teacher acceptable for public school?” Justice asked.

Reid asked Justice why Moms for Liberty and other activists “get to decide what books tens of thousands of children get to read?”

Justice objected to Reid’s accusation that the group was engaged in attempts at censorship.

“No one is banning books,” Justice said.

“Write the book, print the book, publish the book, put the book in the public library, sell the book, right? We’re talking about a public school library.”

The Post has sought comment from MSNBC.

Moms for Liberty is a Florida-based conservative organization that was founded three years ago by two former school board members who “are using their first-hand knowledge and experience” in “empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.”

The organization has gained a national following for its efforts to lift school lockdowns during the pandemic as well as its campaign to remove books with sexually explicit content from school libraries.

Moms for Liberty focuses primarily on school board and local elections with the aim of exerting influence on policies affecting public school students.
