Heart-stopping moment USPS worker is nearly mowed down during brazen mail heist

A harrowing video shows the moment a female postal worker was nearly run over by heartless thieves who snatched a crate of mail from a California post office.

The cellphone recording, which has gone viral on Instagram, shows the dedicated uniformed US Postal Service worker blocking the way of the fleeing bandits’ black getaway car with her body.

Instead of stopping, the driver pushes the federal employee backward as she continues to hold onto the hood.

“No, no, no, no, no!” the woman’s male colleague screams as he runs after the car.

As the black sedan drives past the open security gate at the post office and makes a right turn, the worker is knocked hard to the ground.

The woman is seen getting back on her feet as her co-worker rushes to her aid.

The brazen robbery took place just before 4 p.m. Tuesday at the post office in Fullerton, where police said a trio of men entered the facility, grabbed a container filled with hundreds of pieces of mail and took off, reported the station KTLA.

The female USPS staffer gave chase and tried to stop the crooks, which nearly cost the woman her life, as seen in the video shot by an onlooker.

Miraculously, the victim suffered only minor injuries.

But the postal pilferers’ triumph was short-lived: a police officer who responded to the scene spotted the getaway vehicle in the area and pulled it over.

When the cops searched the car, they allegedly found the stolen mail crate and arrested the three men who were inside on charges of robbery, mail theft and assault with a deadly weapon.

“We’re working with our partners at the postal service, their investigators there,” Fullerton Police Department Sgt. Ryan O’Neil told the outlet. “We are working on the local charges, and they will be working on the possible federal charges.”

Mail theft is a federal crime punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

“I’ve seen a lot of stuff in my career as far as stealing mail,” O’Neil said. “This is my first time seeing suspects steal a crate of mail from the post office.”
