Israel drops newspaper-style warnings to Gaza strip residents saying Hamas ‘destroyed everything good’: ‘Wake up’

The Israeli Air Force dropped newspaper-style warnings to residents in central Gaza, calling for them to “wake up” to Hamas’ wrongdoing – while the health ministry linked to the terror group claims the Palestinian death toll is now over 27,000.

The leaflets, written in Arabic and titled “The Reality,” called for Palestinians in central Gaza to “wake up” to the fact that “Hamas kills [their] loved ones,” the Times of Israel reported Saturday, citing the Kan public broadcaster.

“They destroyed everything good, beat you and tortured you, abandoned your families in the streets, and they are hiding in tunnels,” the leaflet said. “Are you silent? All this is just a drop in the ocean. Your future is in your hands.”

“They killed your children, destroyed everything good, abandoned your families in the ruins while they were protected in tunnels, burned the people’s money…and you are still silent?” the papers demanded.

The leaflets also included articles on the European Union sanctions against Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and the increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza, the Times of Israel reported.

In addition, a section of the leaflets appeared to be refuting different claims by Hamas leaders, though the outlet did not specify which statements were addressed.

Israel faces growing pushback over its ground assault on Gaza, which started a few days after Hamas terrorists attacked southern Israel on Oct. 7.

As of Saturday, the Palestinian Health Ministry – which is controlled by Hamas – claimed that 27,238 Palestinians have been killed over the last four months, CNN reported.

At least 107 people were killed and 165 more injured in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, according to the ministry, figures that could not be independently verified. Hamas does not distinguish between civilian casualties and those of its terrorist fighters.

Also on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces said it carried out airstrikes against several Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, including two observation posts and a military headquarters.

The IDF also announced that the reservist 5th Brigade was withdrawn from Gaza and replaced with other forces.

Many reservist troops have been pulled back in recent weeks, leaving mostly the standing army in Gaza, the Times of Israel explained.
