Jason Kelce retirement ‘still up in the air’: Travis

Whether or not Jason Kelce will retire remains one of the big offseason questions, but Travis Kelce suggested that it was still being figured out during Super Bowl 2024 Opening Night on Monday in Las Vegas.

The question has continued to linger since it was first reported that Jason Kelce had told his teammates after the Eagles’ loss to the Buccaneers that he was hanging up his cleats

During an episode of the “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with Travis Kelce, the elder brother indicated that a final decision was not made yet, and on Monday the Chiefs’ tight end reiterated that.

“I’ll tell you what, I think it’s still up in the air whether or not he’s going to continue to play football,” Travis Kelce told 11-year-old reporter Jeremiah Fennell during Monday’s Super Bowl event.

It would appear that Jason Kelce, who has spent his entire career in Philadelphia and won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2018, is trying to find a way to continue to play.

A video started circulating on social media, and was shared by Crossing Broad, where text says that “Jason Kelce says he’s not retiring.”

The video was filmed while the elder Kelce brother was at the Pro Bowl over the weekend and was signing autographs for fans.

A voice says to Jason Kelce, “Please don’t retire, for the love of football, please don’t.”

“I’m gonna try not to,” Jason Kelce replies.

Jason Kelce announced last March that he would return to play the 2023 NFL campaign “after talking it over with my wife and many other friends and family.”

Jason Kelce has been selected six times as a First Team All-Pro and is a seven-time Pro Bowler.

He was selected 191st overall in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Jason, Travis and the Kelce family have catapulted into stardom when the NFL-playing brothers launched their podcast together in September 2022 and Travis Kelce began dating pop superstar Taylor Swift in September 2023.
