Henry Cavill hates filming ‘overused’ sex scenes: ‘Is this really necessary?’

He’s baring it all to reveal he hates baring it at all.

Hollywood hunk Henry Cavill said that he hates filming sex scenes in movies because he feels the steamy scenes are often overused.

“I don’t understand them – I’m not a fan,” Cavill, 40, told the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast Sunday. “I think there are circumstances where a sex scene actually is beneficial to a movie, rather than just the audience.

“I think sometimes they’re overused these days and it’s when you have a sense where you’re going, ‘Is this really necessary or is it people just with less clothing on,’ ” the “Man of Steel” star said. “And that’s where you start to get more uncomfortable and you’re thinking, ‘there’s not a performance here, there’s not a piece which is going to carry through to the rest of the movie.’ ”

Despite his dislike for sex scenes, the Jersey-born actor said he isn’t totally against them if they serve a higher purpose for the film.

“I think sex scenes can be great in a movie,” admitted “The Witcher” star. “They can really help with the storytelling, but most of the time the human imagination is going to trump it.

“So, it can be a little bit of a cop-out if a TV show or a movie is just filled with gyrating bodies and you’re going ‘OK, but what is this doing for us apart from the idea of oh naked person, great.’ I’m not a fan of that.”

While it is unknown where Cavill’s dislike of racy scenes began, it is possible that it started during his time on the much-lauded HBO show “The Tudors,” where he got his breakout role as Charles Brandon, brother-in-law to King Henry VIII after his marriage to Mary Tudor.

According to Cavill, who was 23 at the time, he got an erection while filming a scene and was left feeling highly embarrassed.

“It’s only happened to me once,” the “Argylle” star told Men’s Fitness in 2015. “A girl had to be on top of me, she had spectacular breasts and I hadn’t rearranged my stuff into a harmless position. She’s basically rubbing herself all over me and, um, it got a bit hard.”

Cavill told the outlet that he apologized profusely afterward.

“It’s not great when you’re in a professional acting environment and somebody gets a b–er is it? No, not acceptable,” he laughed.

“They told me I was close, yes … They told me it was ultimately down to … me and Daniel,” he told the podcast in October 2022.

“I think it was an amazing choice to go with Daniel. I probably wasn’t ready at the time,” he said. “Whether I’m considered for the role or not, I don’t know, but, it’d be fun to have the conversation, for sure,”
