The City of Brotherly Love is hosting some high-profile cousins this spring.
On April 6-7, Wrestlemania 40 will swing into Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field along with superstars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Roman Reigns.
However, it looks likely they won’t do battle.
Although a matchup between the pair was teased at WWE Smackdown, fans complained about the WWE tossing Reigns’ “story” with Royal Rumble champion Cody Rhodes to the side. As a result, Rhodes said he got to make the decision who he was facing off against at Wrestlemania — and he chose Reigns.
“It’s worth keeping an eye on how The Rock factors into things as we move forward,” CBS Sports reported.
Should The Rock take part, it will be his first time in the ring since 2013 when John Cena defeated him at WrestleMania 29.
As of now, the only other confirmed matchup is the Women’s Championship between Iyo Sky and Bayley.
