Cancer-stricken King Charles is ‘learning from mistakes’ he made with Harry: expert

Prince Harry frantically flew to London earlier this week to meet with King Charles in the wake of the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.

The estranged father and son met for just 30 minutes leaving royal watchers skeptical as to whether the health crisis could lead to a long-lasting reconciliation — but one expert says it shows that the king is “learning from his mistakes.”

Charles purportedly called Harry on the phone to tell him of the cancer news before it was announced to the public, a move that relationship expert Louella Alderson believes is a positive sign.

“It’s possible that King Charles’s personal call to Harry about his diagnosis is a sign of mending or learning from past mistakes in their relationship,” Alderson told The Mirror on Saturday.

“It shows a level of respect and consideration from King Charles towards Harry, acknowledging the importance of family and communication during difficult times,” she stated.

Alderson did not elaborate on the mistakes Charles might have made. However, Harry has alluded to his father being emotionally cold during childhood.

In his bombshell memoir, “Spare,” Harry revealed that Charles didn’t hug him after telling him his mother, Princess Diana, had died.

While the frosty relationship between Charles and Harry may be thawing, the king’s cancer diagnosis doesn’t appear to be helping Harry make amends with big brother, Prince William.

Harry did not meet with William during his whistle stop visit to the UK.

Neither Harry nor William have reportedly spoken to each other for over a year, despite both attending their father’s coronation in May 2023.

William has had to step up his royal duties in the past week after it was announced that his father had been diagnosed with an unspecified cancer.

The prince has also been caring for his wife, Princess Kate, who is recovering after undergoing an abdominal procedure.

Prior to Harry’s arrival, the monarch began his cancer treatment on Monday and is recovering at Clarence House.

Buckingham Palace released a statement on Feb. 5 detailing the king’s illness, revealing that he was not suffering from prostate cancer.

“During the king’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” the palace said in a statement. “Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”

“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.”

“Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual,” they added.
