Patrick Mahomes Sr. shares ‘special moment’ with son at Super Bowl 2024 after DWI arrest

Patrick Mahomes Sr. was out of the spotlight at Super Bowl 2024, but did make the trip to Las Vegas following his third DWI arrest.

Jackson Mahomes shared photos of Mahomes Sr. on the field after his brother led the Chiefs to a 25-22 overtime victory over the 49ers at Allegiant Stadium.

The first photo was of the family together, including mother Randi, and the second was of Patrick Sr. hugging Patrick after the game with the caption: “special moments.”

Mahomes Sr. was arrested by the Tyler police department in Smith County, Tex. on Saturday, Feb. 3, where he was charged with “driving while intoxicated a third time or more.”

He had an open 16-ounce Coors beer in the center console when he was stopped by police, according to an affidavit obtained by The Post.

Mahomes Sr. told police he “had a few beers while watching a game at a local bar” when asked why he was drinking while driving, per the affidavit.

Mahomes Sr. played eleven years in the MLB, including two seasons with the Mets from 1999-2000, totaling a 4.74 ERA in Queens.

At Super Bowl opening night, Mahomes was asked about his father’s arrest.

“Yeah, he’s doing good,” Mahomes said. “I haven’t — I don’t want to really get into it too much, but he’s doing good for whatever the situation is. It’s a family matter, so I’ll just keep it to the family, and that’s all I really have to say at this point.”
