‘Monster’ Adam Montgomery found guilty of 5-year-old daughter Harmony’s murder
New Hampshire dad Adam Montgomery was found guilty on Thursday of murdering his 5-year-old daughter, Harmony, whose body has never been recovered.
Montgomery, 34, did not attend his two-week trial and was not in the courtroom when the jury returned its verdict, convicting him of second-degree murder, second-degree assault, witness tampering, falsifying physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
Jurors reached the verdict after six hours of deliberation spread over two days.
New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a Republican, applauded Montgomery’s conviction, writing on X: “Adam Montgomery is a monster and deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.”
Prosecutors argued that in 2019, Montgomery savagely beat Harmony for having bathroom accidents in the family car — and then went to buy fast food as the girl lay dying in the backseat.
He then allegedly spent months moving his daughter’s compressed and decomposing body in a tote bag and a cooler to various hiding spots — before ultimately throwing it out “like yesterday’s trash.”
