Rapper Kodak Black throws rocks at news crew, allegedly threatens to punch reporter just after he’s released from jail

Kodak Black allegedly attacked a Florida news crew with rocks and threatened a reporter moments after he was released from jail for the first time in two months on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old rapper, who was released after he admitted to violating his probation, encountered crew members of local outlet WPLG Local 10 as they waited for him upon his release from Broward County Jail.

Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was captured hunched behind an air conditioning unit and threw rocks at photojournalist Bryan Murphy before he allegedly told reporter Rosh Lowe that he would punch him.

“Call the cops! Call the cops!” Kodak shouts at the news crew members after throwing a rock.

The rapper then told the news crew that he’s been “hibernatin’” and “chillin’” as he strolled around outside the jail, allegedly making more threats and stating his son was “about to be born in less than 48 hours” and that he “ain’t worried about ch’all.”

“I wanted to get your side and say ‘hello’ to you, and you threatened to punch me,” Rush said, to which the rapper said, “I did,” while scrolling nonchalantly on his phone.

Rush then tells Kodak not to threaten him again as he makes his way to the jail pickup area.

The rapper enters a black SUV moments later and leaves the jail.

Murphy was struck in the ribs but was not injured in the assault, according to the outlet.

A police report was filed against the rapper with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

Nearly two weeks ago, Miami US District Judge Jose E. Martinez dropped a drug possession charge against the rapper.

He accepted a plea deal for failure to report police contact following his Dec. 7, 2023, arrest, where the rapper was found passed out by the Florida Highway Patrol in a black Bentley SUV blocking a roadway.

Officers said they found the “ZEZE” rapper asleep at the wheel and smelled the strong odor of cannabis emanating from inside the vehicle.

Authorities said they found white powder on his person during the arrest, and initially, it tested positive for cocaine.

However, a lab test later revealed it was oxycodone, which he obtained a prescription for in July 2022.

He also received a traffic violation for obstructing the road.

The arrest was a violation of his probation from an unrelated case, which led to him being locked up in Miami since earlier December.

Kodak was released Wednesday afternoon on time served by the judge.

The “Roll in Peace” rapper was arrested in 2022 on charges of trafficking in oxycodone and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Florida cops searched his car during a traffic stop in July 2022, and found a small bag with 31 pills, later confirmed to be oxycodone, as well as nearly $75,000 cash in the vehicle.

Freed on bond, he was ordered to take regular drug testing and to serve time in a drug rehab facility.

The rapper then missed one of the drug tests in Feb. 2023 and, several days later, would pop positive for fentanyl, court documents show.

In June, a warrant for his arrest was issued after authorities said he did not show up for a drug test.

Only three years ago, the rapper was pardoned by former President Donald Trump after he was sentenced to prison in 2020 for falsifying documents used to buy weapons. He served about half of his three-year term.
