Career criminal accused of murdering mom in NYC hotel told cops ‘she just wouldn’t die’ in eerie confession, court hears
The career criminal accused of killing a Queens mother of two in a Manhattan hotel room allegedly boasted about the murder to Arizona cops — describing in “graphic detail” how she “just wouldn’t die,” an Arizona court heard.
Raad Almansoori, 26, told officers he tried to strangle Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, 38, inside the Soho 54 Hotel on Feb. 8 before he ultimately decided to beat her to death, a judge in Maricopa County Superior Court heard Monday.
“In his words, ‘She just wouldn’t die,’” a prosecutor revealed while questioning Surprise Police Officer Jeremy Goebel, according to the Daily Mail.
Goebel testified that Almansoori described in “graphic detail” how he and Oleas-Arancibia — who was working as an escort at the time — got into an argument inside the hotel room over how long he could stay, according to the Mail.
He tried to break her neck as he choked her, stomped on her head several times and later put a sock over her head in an effort to suffocate her, Goebel said Almansoori told him, according to Arizona Central.
The suspect then allegedly justified his actions by telling the Arizona police officers, “Not a single woman on this planet likes me, so I was very upset,” according to Fox 10.
“He stated that he’s been seeking to find love his whole life and hasn’t been able to find it,” Goebel testified, according to Arizona Central.
“He has said numerous times throughout my occasion in my interview with him that nobody loves him. His mother doesn’t love him. His family doesn’t love him. That every attempt he’s made with the opposite sex has not been successful.”

Goebel said Almansoori later described himself as “addicted to sex.”
Almansoori was caught on surveillance video leaving the crime scene wearing Oleas-Arancibia’s pink tights following the alleged murder after his own pants got drenched in blood.
He fled to Arizona, where he allegedly carjacked and stabbed a woman in Phoenix on Feb. 17, and then kidnapped and stabbed a McDonald’s employee in nearby Surprise, Arizona, the next day.
The suspect followed the 18-year-old victim into the McDonald’s bathroom, crawled under the door into her stall and pepper-sprayed her and stabbed her in the neck as she screamed, Goebel claimed in court, according to Fox 10.
He said the victim would later describe Almansoori as having “evil eyes,” and thought Almansoori was going to rape her and slit her throat as he pulled out a knife and stabbed her at least three times.
Almansoori also allegedly spoke of a plan to kill his father and stepmother and burn their house down when he was finally caught by cops in Scottsdale on Feb. 18.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell is refusing to extradite the accused killer to New York.
She said she doesn’t trust the Manhattan district attorney to keep Almansoori behind bars, citing his soft-on-crime reputation.
“We’re gonna keep him here,” Mitchell said last Wednesday. “Having observed the treatment of violent criminals in the New York area by the Manhattan DA there, Alvin Bragg, I think it’s safer to keep him here.”
Bragg, who wants to see Almansoori face the murder charges in New York, fired back at Mitchell on Thursday, telling reporters she was “grandstanding” and “playing politics” with a serious murder case.
“County DA Mitchell has, I don’t know how to say it, has gotten it wrong at every single turn,” he told reporters. “I don’t know how they do it in Arizona, but I know in this county, New York County, we routinely seek and get remand, which means the person is in custody in our murder cases. Those are the facts.”
He argued that extradition is typically resolved over the phone between “professional” prosecutors, with murder cases routinely taking precedence over lesser crimes.
The dispute between the two prosecutors remains unresolved, as Almansoori was ordered held without bail on Monday while the Arizona case moves forward.
He is facing attempted murder, assault and kidnapping charges in the Grand Canyon State.
Almansoori is also being held on a $5 million bond on fugitive from justice charges connected to the New York case.
He is due back in Arizona court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
