Trump wins Michigan, Missouri caucuses in dominating fashion, dealing another blow to Haley

Donald Trump stormed through two more states’ nominating contests Saturday, taking caucuses in both Missouri and Michigan and dealing further defeats to former UN ambassador Nikki Haley.

The Associated Press called the Missouri race for the former president shortly after voting began in caucus locations across the state.

All 924 caucus precincts went in Trump’s favor by 50% or more, adding 51 of Missouri’s 54 convention delegates to his tally. Three more at-large delegates will be free to vote at will under party rules.

Democrats will hold their primary in Missouri on March 23.

Meanwhile, Trump scooped up all 39 delegates at the Michigan Republican Party’s caucus convention in Grand Rapids.

Trump beat Haley resoundingly in all 13 congressional district caucuses – winning more than 90% of the vote in each one of the contests and taking three districts unanimously, the Detroit News reported.

The caucus convention followed Tuesday’s Michigan primary, which Trump won with 68% of the vote.

The front-runner has racked up substantial wins in all seven primary and caucus contests held so far.

Haley has said she’ll stay in the race at least through March 5, Super Tuesday, when Republicans voters in 15 states will head to the polls – despite suffering a crushing loss in her home state of South Carolina last week.
