I’m a travel agent for the rich — these are ridiculous things my clients have requested
A travel agent to the stars revealed the wildest things his clients have requested while traveling.
Rob DelliBovi, a travel agent to the rich and famous, has signed many non-disclosure agreements — but he’s sharing some anonymous secrets.
Through his company RDB Hospitality, DelliBovi and his team work to ensure clients travel “seamlessly, without a stop, without an issue,” whether it be leisure travel, a global arena concert tour or an international press junket, he told CNN.
While his client list isn’t all celebrities, it is stacked with “high net worth” individuals, with “high demands” who know that “most things are available for a price,” admitted DelliBovi, who said his occupation can be both “flashy” and glamorous.”
The travel planner does more than just book flights and hotels. He works to make sure that every wild request his clients make is immediately met to guarantee an elite experience.
For example, one former client used to request that a “medium-sized dog” be ready and wagging their tale in every hotel room he rented.
While it was a “fun, harmless thing” to allow the guy to play with a dog for two hours, it was a constant complex request. It sometimes could mean offering a fee to hotel staff who are dog owners in order to borrow a pooch for a while.
DelliBovi has also been asked to “create a three-foot-long cheese board” and separate M&Ms by color — a common request from musicians.
“That’s one that’s kind of passed down through many acts,” he shared. “Some might argue they do it to mess with us.”
Another client “doesn’t like to pack clothing” and asks “for new underwear and socks and shirts and everything” to be waiting for them at each destination.
“New clothes are being bought in every city,” DelliBovi told the outlet.
A common request that DelliBovi receives is for certain types of bottled water.
“Everybody has their type of bottle of water, which is really funny,” DelliBovi said. “To me, there’s no difference between all the bottles of water, but what do I know?”
Guests are also very specific about temperature — having preferences for everything from the feel of their room to the bath water.
But some requests are just too much for travel agents to accommodate, as some clients “mistreat” his services.
DelliBovi admitted that he gets asked for “a lot of illegal things,” though he doesn’t specify what, exactly — but he doesn’t cross that line no matter how big the star power or paycheck.
“I’m just too scared about getting involved in that stuff,” he said.
