Jordan Poyer’s model wife, Rachel Bush, doesn’t ‘have the words yet’ after his Bills release

Rachel Bush is ready for a new beginning after Wednesday’s news that the Buffalo Bills are releasing her husband, star safety Jordan Poyer.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the model and influencer shared an emotional tribute to Poyer, who spent seven seasons in Buffalo and was a pivotal part of the team’s five consecutive playoff berths.

“I don’t have the words yet but they are coming. (Along with so many photo memories),” Bush wrote in one slide, adding red and blue heart emojis to signify Buffalo’s team colors.

“Right now I just want my husband to know what a leader and inspiration he is,” she posted in a second slide.

“The impact he made will always be remembered. Both within the football world and outside as well. You into Buffalo and gave the city something they were longing for. Changed the culture. You’re special my love and what you have done is such an accomplishment. A true game changer!!”

Bush, who shared a number of photos of Poyer during his Bills tenure, explained why the couple is embracing their next chapter.

“My All Pro, in life and on the field! We love you!” she wrote. “Here’s to new beginnings! Something we both always welcome with open arms as we love excitement.”

Poyer was part of a cap collateral move on Wednesday, with the Bills also cutting center Mitch Morse, cornerback Tre’Davious White, defensive back Siran Neal, wide receiver Deonte Harty and running back Nyheim Hines.

Prior to the roster moves, the Bills entered Wednesday at $40 million over the cap.

The changes are expected to save the team around $36 million, according to reports.

The Bills restructured the contract of veteran pass rusher Von Miller, who entered the day with the third-highest cap hit on the roster, per ESPN.

Poyer, who arrived in Buffalo in 2017, was a team captain for the last four seasons and played an integral role in helping shift the culture alongside head coach Sean McDermott, who was hired in the same year.

He re-signed with the Bills before the 2023 season and played in 16 games, reaching 100 tackles for the first time since the 2020 season.

In his seven seasons in Buffalo, Poyer recorded 682 tackles, 22 interceptions, 35 tackles for a loss, 48 pass breakups and 11 sacks.

Poyer also integrated himself into the Buffalo community and was open about his battle with alcoholism in 2021.

A seventh-round pick by the Eagles in the 2013 NFL Draft, Poyer also played for the Cleveland Browns and is considered a top talent at his position.
