Mom arrested after concocting gross drink to ‘prank’ son’s bully leaves child in a hospital

A Texas nurse’s gross plan to get back at her son’s accused bully backfired spectacularly — leaving an 11-year-old boy in a hospital and the revengeful mom under arrest.

Jennifer Lynn Rossi, 45, admitted concocting a gross drink to give to her son’s classmate in revenge for him allegedly swiping his sports drink at Legacy Traditional School – Alamo Ranch in San Antonio, according to an arrest warrant obtained by KENS 5.

She mixed Gatorade with lemon juice, salt and vinegar, telling her son it would “prank” his alleged bully without harming him, the documents stated.

But after spitting out the gross mixture, the 11-year-old boy who was given it then complained of feeling sick and having a headache, and was taken to a local hospital.

Other fifth-grade students also tried the drink and were checked by the school nurse.

“Although, the contents of the drink were non-toxic, the incident resulted in a child being hospitalized,” Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said.

“Hospital staff informed the investigator that the child victim required additional medical monitoring and would eventually be discharged from the hospital.”

Rossi was arrested Tuesday and charged with injury to a child. She has since posted bond and is scheduled to have a pre-trial hearing in April.

She told deputies she took full responsibility for the incident, maintaining that as a nurse she knew it did not put the child in danger, according to the charging documents.

Her son was disciplined at school, according to officials.

The 11-year-old victim is home from the hospital and doing well, school officials said in an update.
