Ex-McDonald’s employee shares the french fries hack that all workers secretly do: ‘Literally the best thing’

If you thought the key to the tastiest McDonald’s fries was extra salt and extra hot, you would be wrong.

According to a former Australian McDonald’s employee, there is a little-known hack that promises the most delicious chips you’ve ever tasted from the fast food joint.

TikTok user @rubyguestt hit social media this week to share a tip she’s been holding onto for far too long after working at the popular eatery.

“If you have not done this with your fries, then you need to,” she shared, while tucking into some large fries in her car.

People are frothing over the McDonald’s hack

The TikToker then goes on to recommend ordering your fries with seasoning usually used on a popular burger on the menu.

“Ask for Angus seasoning on your fries, it is literally the best thing,” she insists.

The clip has been viewed over 314K times with many fries fans frothing over the thought of adding the extra special seasoning.

“As a Macca’s [McDonald’s] manager I can confirm it’s so so good,” one person chimed in.

“Former Macca’s [McDonald’s] employee and I always do this,” another agreed.

Meanwhile, another person, who still works at McDonald’s, was wondering why people kept asking for this added extra during her shift.

“I work at Macca’s [McDonald’s] and someone asked me for this today and I was so confused. Makes sense,” she laughed.

Now she knows!

McDonald’s spokesperson weighs in

While many agreed it made their fries taste amazing, one person commented that they were left disappointed because their local McDonald’s refused to do it.

And as it turns out, not ALL franchises will.

“Customers would need to request it via the front counter or drive thru and chat to our friendly crew on shift to see if it’s possible,” according to a McDonald’s rep. TikTok/rubyguestt

According to a McDonald’s rep, who shared with news.com.au, the “hack” is only available at selected restaurants.

“The Angus seasoning on fries and wrap substitute for burgers are not official options on our menu and it will vary restaurant to restaurant on whether our teams are able to fulfil this,” they claimed.
