Raiders could join Giants, Steelers in Russell Wilson sweepstakes

Russell Wilson is looking for a new home — and another team might be interested in his servives.

The soon-to-be former Broncos quarterback will hit the open market once NFL free agency officially gets underway.

Wilson met with the Giants and Steelers on Friday, and now, it looks like the Raiders could be in the mix, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Such an acquisition would keep Wilson in the AFC West, joining a Broncos rival.

The Raiders are coming off a season where they made a late push under then-interim coach Antonio Pierce, who they converted to full-time after the season.

Pierce helped lead the Raiders to a 5-4 record while taking over the team, finishing at 8-9 overall.

Wilson, who will soon be cut two years after a disastrous trade from the Seahawks, had a better campaign in 2023 for the Broncos than his initial 2022 season, but he was benched at the end of the regular season amid a controversy over his injury guarantee.

Wilson completed 66.4 percent of his passes, throwing for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions this year while leading the Broncos to a 7-8 record in his 15 starts.

In 2022, Wilson recorded career lows with 16 touchdowns and a 60.5 percent completion percentage.

The Broncos have the No. 12 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
