Tom Brady was ‘bawling his eyes out’ when he spoke to Patriots over Deflategate scandal, Darrelle Revis says

Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady became an emotional wreck during a team meeting when he denied any wrongdoing over the infamous “Deflategate” scandal, his former Patriots teammate claimed.

“When the Deflategate happened and Tom was the headliner of the whole situation, he addressed us as a team,” Darrelle Revis said on the latest episode of Apple TV+’s documentary, “The Dynasty.”

Revis claimed Brady implored teammates in the locker room that the accusations against him were false and insisted it would not distract the team.

“You could tell he was distraught… He said this is something I wouldn’t do. I would not ruin the season for us; the allegations are false,” the Hall of Fame cornerback continued. “He was actually bawling his eyes out in front of us.”

Brady was accused of allegedly ordering team personnel to deflate game balls that were below the league minimum requirement of 12.5 psi against the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game in 2014.

The NFL permits inflating footballs between the 12.5 to 13.5 psi range.

Brady initially accepted a four-game suspension handed down by the league but the seven-time Super Bowl passer was able to appeal the decision in 2014.

The appeal was, ultimately, overturned in 2016 and the Patriots were fined $1 million while Brady was forced to sit out the first four games of the season.

The team was also stripped of first- and fourth-round draft picks.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft chimed in on the chaotic event in the latest episode, saying Brady was “taking it very hard.”

“The two weeks were very difficult on Tommy, he was taking it very hard,” Kraft recalled.

At one point, Brady had been outraged after feeling stabbed in the back when Kraft held a press conference in 2015 to accept the quarterback’s suspension.

“What the f–k,” Brady said, according to “12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Fight for Redemption.”

“Why am I not getting the support I deserve on this thing?” Brady said.

Despite his suspension, Brady and the Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks to win Super Bowl XLIX that year, adding to New England’s dynastic run.
