Homeless parolee breaks into sleeping California woman’s home, masturbates next to her bed

A homeless man on parole allegedly broke into a California woman’s home while she was sleeping and masturbated next to her.

Anthony Romero, a career criminal, allegedly barged into the victim’s 2nd Street home in Santa Monica around 2 a.m. on Feb. 29.

When the woman, who was not identified, woke up, Romero, 28, was allegedly masturbating next to her bed and touching her face, Police Lt. Erika Aklufi said, according to Santa Monica Lookout.

The horrified woman told Romero to leave and he fled before police arrived.

Officers obtained surveillance footage to identify Romero, who they found the next day around 9:30 a.m. on Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the Santa Monica Lookout.

He was charged with burglary, attempt to commit rape, indecent exposure, and a parole hold, according to The Lookout.

Romero was out on parole for a weapons violation, according to KTLA.

He has previously been arrested for shoplifting, public intoxication, resisting arrest, battery on a police officer, and parole violations, according to the outlet.

Romero is expected back in court in April.
