Veterans Affairs Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Operations RimaAnn Nelson’s title should be abbreviated to “Chief Birdbrain.”
That photo, recognized worldwide, is the perfect representation of New York’s reaction to V-J Day, ending World War II in the Pacific. Every sailor felt he was the guy in the photo. Thankfully, VA Secretary Denis McDonough was able to reverse the asinine order.

How dare she inflict her ideology and her thoughts on the American people. My suggestion to Nelson is to resign her position and go get a life. That’s a great photo.

This removal was just another example of the left’s war on American history. Statues have been removed and landmark buildings renamed to appease the woke.

The end of World War II and the Japanese surrender were certainly cause to celebrate. Nowhere does the photo suggest inappropriate behavior.

The Issue: Nikki Haley departing the presidential race following a poor performance on Super Tuesday.
Shame on Nikki Haley for not uniting with Republicans and endorsing former President Donald Trump (“Super duper Tuesday for the Donald,” March 6).
Haley joins the ranks of fellow fair-weather Republicans Chris Christie and Asa Hutchinson — who like Haley had pledged to support the GOP nominee should they not win the nomination. These three are the poster children illustrating why Democrats win more elections.

Although she is leaving the race in defeat, I envision an honored place in history for Nikki Haley. She joined the tiny band of Republican truth-tellers in noting how unfit for the presidency Donald Trump is.
I am not in sync with Haley on many ideological issues, but she is a rational, reasonable and pro-American individual who would continue the honored traditions and tenets of our country, including the peaceful transfer of power and recognizing that our allies are deserving of our support. She would not have cozied up to ruthless and murderous dictators.
The future for Haley is unknown, but I hope we have not seen the last of her on the national stage. She is someone who could breathe new life into a party that has lost its way.
