I’m a Brit living in the US — this is the one thing I’ve noticed about American eating habits

She’s providing some food for thought.

A British woman living in America has revealed one big difference between how people in the US and the UK snack.

Caroline Parker, who lives outside of Boston with her husband and young children, took to TikTok to declare that Americans chow down on candy far more frequently than their British counterparts.

The content creator claims that those in the UK, on the other hand, eat a chocolate bar when they want to indulge in a sugary sweet treat.

“Something I’ve noticed while living in America is that British people on the whole tend to [prefer] chocolate whereas Americans tend to [prefer] sweets,” Parker proclaimed in a recent video, which has clocked up more than 1.2 million views.

The expat filmed her clip inside of a supermarket and held up a packet of Haribo candy before she stated: “They [Americans] are more likely to do a snack like this rather than a chocolate bar. British people love a chocolate bar.”

Viewers chimed in saying they had also noticed the difference in how the two nationalities snack. Several said British chocolate was far superior to anything sold locally.

“I dated a Brit who would get care packages from home,” one wrote. “Y’all eat so much chocolate because it’s so much better.”

Another claimed that chocolate sold in the US was deliberately “soured” for a longer shelf life.

“That’s why it’s so bad,” they sassily stated.

Parker replied, revealing that she was not “keen” on US chocolate.

The TikTokker has previously spoken out about other differences between Brits and Americans.

The Englishwoman said she didn’t realize how “sensitive” and “literal” Americans are, according to the Daily Mail.

She added that those in the US are more “welcoming and friendly,” while Brits tend to be more “firm.”
