Cam Thomas to return from injury in massive Nets boost

CHARLOTTE — Cam Thomas has been cleared to return for the Nets.

After missing the past six games with a right ankle/mid-foot sprain, Thomas will come back for Saturday’s tilt at the Hornets.

He scored a game-high 31 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Nets suffered a 110-99 loss to the lowly Hornets.

Thomas suffered the injury in a Feb. 26 blowout win over Memphis.

He’s averaging 20.9 points per game, tied with Mikal Bridges for the team lead.

While the young guard has averaged 21.9 points in 33.6 minutes over his last 13 appearances — all starts — it’s unknown if he will be on a minutes restriction.

But knowing the conservative nature of Brooklyn’s performance team, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him eased back into the rotation.

The Nets have a back-to-back, playing Sunday in Cleveland.

Backup center Day’Ron Sharpe will also return from his wrist injury against the Hornets.

He scored two points in 10 minutes in the Nets’ loss.
