Ji Man Choi’s hot spring continues in Mets’ victory

Noteworthy items during the Mets’ Grapefruit League action on Saturday:

Choi’s churning

Ji Man Choi went 3-for-3 with an RBI in the Mets’ 9-3 exhibition victory over the Cardinals in Jupiter, Fla., on Saturday.

The journeyman Choi — who formerly played with the Angels, Yankees, Brewers, Rays, Pirates and Padres — was signed to a minor-league contract after camp opened and is attempting to show he belongs as a left-handed DH option.

He owns a 1.214 OPS in eight games this spring.
