Austin Ekeler is bolting town.
The star running back agreed to a two-year deal with the Commanders worth up to $11.43 million, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Ekeler, 28, ends his seven-year tenure with the Chargers after 103 games in which he rushed for 4,355 yards and 39 touchdowns, adding another 3,884 receiving yards and 30 scores through the air.

He struggled in 2023, posting his worst season since taking over as the full-time rusher for Los Angeles.
His 3.5 yards per attempt were a career-worst while his 628 yards and five TDs on the ground were his lowest totals since 2020.
Ekeler will get a chance to replace the departed Antonio Gibson, who signed a three-year deal with the Patriots on Monday, and form a tandem with rising third-year back Brian Robinson.
