Why the Steelers’ Russell Wilson addition might be the most underrated QB upgrade of the NFL offseason, and leave the Giants with some regret

Just look at the numbers.

Russell Wilson’s decline has been greatly exaggerated.

The now-polarizing quarterback is signing with the Steelers, he announced late Sunday night, after the Broncos last week announced they will cut Wilson once the new league year begins on March 13, eating $85 million in dead cap to end his Mile High tenure after just two turbulent seasons.

Just two years ago, the Broncos traded two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, Noah Fant, Drew Lock and Shelby Harris to the Seahawks to acquire Wilson, and then handed him a five-year contract extension worth more than $242 million.
