Car passenger on NJ Turnpike killed when metal object suddenly flies into windshield

A 39-year-old car passenger was killed in a freak accident on the New Jersey Turnpike when a metal object suddenly smashed into the vehicle’s windshield, authorities say.
Steven Bradshaw of Audubon, NJ, was in the car heading north on the turnpike about 1:20 p.m. Thursday when the unidentified object struck the vehicle’s hood and windshield near mile marker 67 in East Windsor, according to NJ.com.
Bradshaw died at the scene, the NJ State Police told the outlet. The car’s driver wasn’t hurt.

Authorities said they are still investigating the crash.
