Drew Lock’s family is celebrating his next NFL chapter.
Shortly after news broke Tuesday that the 27-year-old quarterback is signing with the Giants on a one-year deal for $5 million in free agency, his wife, Natalie, commemorated the news with a heartfelt Instagram tribute.
“See you soon NY,” Natalie wrote in an Instagram Story. “Damn proud of you baby!!”
Lock will back up starting Giants quarterback Daniel Jones following Tyrod Taylor’s departure to the Jets.
A second-round pick out of Missouri in the 2019 NFL Draft, Lock began his NFL career with the Broncos.
Through five games in his rookie year, Lock threw for 1,020 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions.
Lock had an uneven sophomore season in 2020, throwing 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 13 games.
The Broncos acquired former first-round pick Teddy Bridgewater in a trade with the Panthers in April 2021, with Lock losing the starting job later that year.
He slid back into the role of QB1 in Week 15 after Bridgewater suffered a concussion and was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the season.
Lock’s time with the Broncos ended in March 2022, when he was shipped to Seattle — along with defensive lineman Shelby Harris, tight end Noah Fant and a bevy of draft picks — as part of the blockbuster Russell Wilson trade with the Seahawks.
He served as Geno Smith’s backup for the past two seasons.
Lock had a shining moment this past December when he led the Seahawks to a comeback win over the Eagles on “Monday Night Football,” throwing a touchdown in the final 30 seconds in the 20-17 win.
“Ny Football Giants Let’s Gooo!” Lock exclaimed in an Instagram Story on Tuesday.
It’s been an exciting start to the year for Lock.
In January, he and wife Natalie welcomed son Layton Andrew Lock.
“The sweetest little boy is finally in our arms & we are so in love! Our hearts are forever full,” she gushed on Instagram at the time.
The Locks tied the knot last April.
