Pot of gold: Krispy Kreme is giving out free donuts for St. Patrick’s Day

It’s a lucky weekend for Krispy Kreme customers.

From Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17, the bakery company is bringing back the fan-favorite O’riginal Glazed Doughnut — a green version of their Original Glazed Doughnut — to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

While they’re available for purchase individually or by the dozen, customers will also have the chance to take home a green glazed for free.

Anyone who wears green to a Krispy Kreme store or drive-thru on March 15-17 can get one free O’riginal Glazed Doughnut, no purchase necessary.

In addition to the freebies, Krispy Kreme introduced four all-new, colorful doughnuts alongside the popular green glazed doughnut.

“Luck is meant to be shared, and our colorful, fun, all-new St. Patrick’s Day doughnuts will make everyone feel like they’ve found a pot of gold,” Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a statement.

The Luck of the Rainbow Doughnut is an Original Glazed Doughnut dipped in green icing with rainbow sprinkles and topped with a buttercream cloud.

Shamrock Cookies ‘N Kreme is an unglazed shell filled with cookies & Kreme filling made with Oreo cookies, dipped in white icing with green drizzles and St. Patrick’s Day-themed sprinkles.

The Plaid Party Doughnut is an unglazed shell filled with white Kreme filling, dipped in chocolate icing and drizzled with green icing.

And finally, the Shooting Shamrock Doughnut is an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in light green icing with a green icing swirl, topped with a shamrock sugar piece.
