Biden spotted with cheat cards with photos of Irish leaders — and how to pronounce their names

President Biden on Friday was photographed holding cheat cards with pictures of Irish officials — accompanied with prompts on how to pronounce their names.

The 81-year-old commander-in-chief exposed the cards to cameras while meeting in the Oval Office with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.

Varadkar was accompanied by Nick Miller, the Irish government press secretary, Brian Murphy, his chief of staff, Philip O’Callaghan, his deputy chief of staff and Geraldine Byrne Nason, Irish ambassador to the US — some of whom were also pictured on the photographed card.

Biden also met with Varadkar at the White House in 2023 when he visited for St. Patrick’s Day.

The president has been known to use cheat sheets frequently throughout his presidency, including cards outlining information about reporters and the questions they were expected to ask.

“It is entirely normal for a president to be briefed on reporters who will be asking questions at a press conference and issues that we expect they might ask about,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters in April after the president received backlash for having those prepared cards before his press conference.

Biden has also been seen with cards laying out specific information on where to stand.

“YOU enter the Roosevelt Room and say hello to participants. YOU take YOUR seat,” one detailed crib card read in June 2022.

He was also caught receiving a note from an aide in July 2021 alerting him that there was “something” on his chin.
